Philip Kurstjens - Gitaar

Philip teaches guitar at Music For Life. Philip Kurstjens (Utrecht, 2004) started playing guitar at the age of seven. He soon ended up in bands playing styles such as rock, funk, and pop. In 2019, Philip first came into contact with the Conservatory of Amsterdam through the Junior Jazz College. There he was introduced to jazz and related styles and learned how to get the most out of his playing. In 2022, Philip was accepted into the bachelor’s program in Jazz Guitar, where he studied with, among others, Jesse van Ruller, Martijn van Iterson, and Reinier Baas. During his studies, there was also room for his own projects, such as his two bands Rìona and CHELLOVECKS. With the latter, he released the album NEGATIVE SPACE in June 2025 and completed a domestic tour. With Philip, you can take lessons in almost all styles of music, from pop to rock, metal, jazz, funk, and more.
